Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Template tailored to an EU/Belgian store under the GDPR. Confirm the specifics (controller details, processors, retention) and have it reviewed before publishing.

ChiqMode ("we") respects your privacy and processes your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data-protection law. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

Data controller

The controller is [Registered company name], [address], Belgium. For any privacy request, contact [privacy@chiqmode.com].

What we collect and why

  • Account data (name, email, password hash) — to create and manage your account. Legal basis: contract.
  • Order & delivery data (addresses, items, amounts) — to process and ship your orders. Legal basis: contract / legal obligation (invoicing).
  • Payment data — card payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers. Legal basis: contract.
  • Communications (emails you send us) — to provide support. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
  • Cookies / usage — see our Cookie Policy. Non-essential cookies are used only with your consent.

Who we share it with

We share data only with processors that help us run the store, under data-processing agreements: our payment provider (Stripe), our shipping carrier (bpost), our email provider, and our hosting/infrastructure provider. We do not sell your data.

International transfers

Where a processor is located outside the EEA, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active, and order/invoice data for the legally required period (in Belgium, invoices are retained for 7 years). You can request deletion of data we are not legally required to keep.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email [privacy@chiqmode.com]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
